A Fine Dusting Of Snow.

It was snowing this morning, even though not a great deal. So far, this year, very little snow has fallen. And I hope it will remain this way.
Next week there is a winter vacation in schools and many families are traveling to the Alps for skiing holidays. About 4 years ago, in exactly that week, I was snowed in when suddenly large amounts of snow fell. As seen on the pictures, the difference is quiet obvious; this time we can call it a fine dusting at the best.

You did get a good snow in 2005! But even a dusting is beautiful, isn't it?

We've had several fine "dustings." Some which were up to 20 hours of falling "dust", creating 7 feet of "dust banks" on the sides of the driveways. I'm tired of the "dust" now. I want spring, please.

Despite all that, you have some very nice "dusty" photos. ;)

LOL... I'm still laughing at Hilary's description of the 'dust' that has fallen her way!! I like your sort of dustings, too, but Ryan definitely prefers Hilary's!

Beautiful snow dusting. The light stuff can really bring out the beauty of nature. *Oh Hilary, you are something. LOL!*

Do you ski, Protege? I used to when I was 14. But I got out of the habit. My brother snowboards, and teaches lessons at the local resort.

I do love just a little dust right in the middle of a dreary winter. It seems to make everything look fresher and brighter. (A nice contrast from that ugly dirty gray that seems to cover the world in the winter.)

Your dusted pictures are very pretty. They look almost flocked.

The "dusting " kind of snow is very pretty, expecially the views of your garden.Just the right amount, right? No shoveling, for one thing.
I hope you have a very nice weekend, Ms. Z--before you know it, you will be sitting out in those garden chairs...
I am a long way off from that here--maybe not until mud-April, but am looking for a little thawing out this weekend again--the cold and snow is beginning to wear me down now.

=Betsy, yes, 2005 is winter I will remember. It was snowing several days in a row and I was snowed in for a week. Likewise the following two years, 2006 and 2007 were very bad. Last year we only got snow for a few days in March. I hope this year the snow will remain almost absent:;)) I love snow, but I hate driving in it.;)

=Hilary, I am with you.;)) The pictures you posted recently on your site remind me a bit of February 2005. I am sooooooooooo ready for spring too, has been since 1st of January.;))
I wish you therefore no more dustings!:P:P

=Diane, yes Hilary is hilarious.;))))))))
As a kid I loved snow as well, so I get that Ryan likes it. But she will too like it less once she has to drive in it.;))

=Michelle, this kind of ”dusting” is my favourite.
I do ski actually; I skied a lot as a child but then I did not ski for many, many years, until in Taos, New Mexico when I was 26. It somehow came back to me and I could go down the slopes even on black trails.;) But now it has been again more than a decade since I was anywhere near any slopes. Perhaps it is time to try again.;))

=Holly, I agree with you completely. The snow makes everything more beautiful, even just a small amount of it. The worst is the grey winter, and we have those every year.
Thank you for your nice words.;))

=Tina, your comment is great!;)))) First of all I so identify with that typo, I keep making bad, really bad typos in most of my comments. Even in my replies to the comments. I think I am a bit word blind, if you can day so? I go through everything zillions times and then when I post it, there are typos all over the place.;)) So now worries, I completely get it. And actually, you are right on with “mud-April”. We often get those. And the spring comes late here as well; sometimes we even get snow in April still. Sigh.

=Julie, yes it is pretty, but I have enough of it after a day. I would much rather have your sunshine.;)))

=Mahmud, so happy to hear that my pictures seem exotic to you! You know that is the way I view yours.;)) Thank you! And I am going to post your tag next week, so I have not forgotten. Batcat has been interviewed and his answers are being processed.;))

How is it that I've had more snow this year than you have? That's a little weird!

Mel, I have no idea;) Maybe is the global warming.;) Honestly, we have a more temperate climate in Denmark. Contrary to what most people believe, we have actually mild and wet winters. With an occasional storm with or without snow in February-March. So I am holding my breath for the next month or so.;))
