Mirage In The Evening Sky.

The sun is moving visibly higher in the sky. The difference is barely palpable, nevertheless, the quality of the light is slowly changing and the sunsets lasts longer.

Last weekend I took pictures of a beautiful evening sky, just after the sunset. When I looked at them later on my computer, I spotted an intriguing image in the sky. The clouds were forming a circular shape, creating a seal or a water stamp in the sky. It resembles somewhat the shape of a sun, but as they say, it is all in the eye of the beholder.

What do you see?

Beautiful picture, really stunning. And yes there is more light. I notice it when I take the kids to school.

Have a lovely tuesday with almost 10 cm new snow.

A really beautiful picture and the image made by the clouds does resemble the Sun...perhaps a sign of hope! Have a really wonderful day! Cathy

That's very cool. I see a great big smiling Humpty Dumpty-like face, with his left hand waving and an owl looming over him on his right (our left). What a fun shot, especially since you hadn't expected this added enjoyment to an already-beautiful image.

What a fantastic picture! It looks like an opening in the clouds to another world (if only we could get up there!). I only just discovered your blog at the weekend, and am enjoying having a good look around.
best wishes

Hi Zuzana,
I see a great eye looking back at us from the sky! What an awesome photo!

There is something there!...very intriguing as to what it is...maybe there was something behind and the clouds took the shape of it? or maybe the wind simply pushed the clouds and they took this unusual shape. The mind can wander...
have a great day!

I clearly see the sun's image as a child would draw it. I wonder what caused this phenomenon. The sky is a wonderful color of blue.

When I saw the picture, it looked like the sun depicted in Indian mythology. The sun in his grandeur. The picture is quite arresting. What is the identity of the sun in your culture? Is he a male or is she a female? Curious . . .

Lovely as always, Zuzana.

Joy and peace,
Susan

H, Zuzana. I'm not sure if I see anything in particular in the shape of the clouds, though I do see the circular shape you alluded to. It is a beautiful sunset, though.

It's a wonderful photo Zuzana, the colors are amazing.
I watched a very interesting documentary last night about the pharaoh Akhenaten in ancient Egypt who worshipped the sun (he'd have liked your photo!). And yes, there is definitely a change and a little bit of extra daylight. I have started to feel happier already as I just hate long dark nights.

Wow, that is really cool! It makes me think of the children's books that have Old Man Winter blowing the icy blasts - he always has a round face with big, puffy cheeks.

A fantastic photo Zuzana - it looks like a huge blue sun - like something you would see in old fairy tales or myths. The mind could really play tricks looking at this!

Yes, the days are slowly lengthening and I have really noticed dusk falling later this week.

I'm just blown away by the array of colours in these images. It's like a sunset rainbow. The cloud formation is fascinating. Have you visited the Cloud Appreciation Society's website? They love submissions of cool shots of clouds. And this one is remarkable. :)
