Dreaming Of Turquoise and Golden.

This Tuesday brought us more snow. Tons of it. As I was gazing out at the falling snowflakes, the storm kept dumping inches and inches of new snow everywhere.

It looked absolutely beautiful, I agree.

BUT - somewhere deep inside, I could feel the beginning of a certain longing, one which is only going to intensify in strength by each coming week. And in about two months, this longing will manifest itself with all the powerful force, which it will have harvested during this waiting time.
A longing for sun and the sea.
The longing for summer.

Thus, the coming cold weeks will find me dreaming of blue green coloured sea and white beaches, while my reality will be far removed from these pleasing images.
In my daydreams though, I am free to travel to the most visually stunning corners of the world, to the hidden tropical coves, forgotten islands and lonely bays, in search of virtual sunshine.

And the clip below helps.
I dedicate it to everyone who is just about to have had it with the snow.
Enjoy.

Dearest Zuzana! We had tones of snow here in Budapest as well! Strangely I find it charming...perhaps because we hadn't had really snow in years.

However I love the song and the clip about the beautiful beaches...will going to Thailand on Tuesday...I can't wait!

Hope you having a great week, much love: Evi

I'm disappointed to say the best beach in the world wasn't included, but I'm not going to say where it is other than it's on the Big Island of Hawaii!

It's a beautiful white sand beach with wonderful snorkeling but the most important thing is most tourists know nothing about its existence - and that's why it's special!

I enjoyed the video!

Woohh! I just can't believe the tons of snow that's going to cover your grounds and rooftop.I guess in winter you must be allowed to work from home. It's so much different with our tropical climate with its evergreen cover, mostly sunshine throughout the year, rainy and humid at times. As such we can visit beaches everyday of the year if we want to!! Will be looking forward to a time in future to touch snow somwhere in the northern hemisphere :))

Hi Zuzana
Mmmm looking at those lovely beaches just makes me want to rush straight out and book a holiday! Not going to happen this year though, with the cottage to concentrate on. I have been lucky enough to visit two though of those shown - Tortola and Aruba.
I think, like you, many people are longing for spring. Your snow does look beautiful though. Here in North Wales it is pretty foggy at the moment!
Best wishes
Dan

Your snow does look beautiful(and it's good for your still sleeping garden), but...I am in that longing for a warm beach phases right now, too.
Loved the beach slide show(and the Jack Johnson music)--my boss is away this week in the U.S. Virgin Islands--hope he is enjoying himself!
Just today, I was thinking of the coming spring and just longing for that first day when you can smell that warmed earth scent.

So beautiful and timely. Not a lot of accumulation this winter here in NY but certainly frigid temps.

Oh, I too long for the beach...any beach...anywhere!

Have a lovely day Zuzana~

December snow is highly anticipated since it gives hope for a White Christmas.
-
January snow is depressing. The days are short and cold and everyone is dealing with the post holiday blahs.
-
February snow on the other hand should be savored, because spring is right around the corner.
-
The days are starting to get longer and all the stores are bringing out their summer inventory.
-
The rebirth of another season is on its way.

Ahhh...the beaches are wonderful! Reminds me of our trip to Kauai. The scenery is so beautiful that it is surreal. We are expecting snow tomorrow, but nothing like yours..maybe 4 inches. Thanks for the ocean breather...very relaxing : )

Mmmmmmmmmm... I do hope for sunshine and warmth for you very soon.

Even though I'm not a beach person (much prefer lazing round a private pool), the one you show looks absolutely incredible. Reminds me of that one featured on The Thorn Birds when Meggie went away and spent a few days in passionate encounter with the priest.

OOh, turquoise and gold, what a stunning combination. I have a turquoise tunic, embroidered with gold. I will wear it in your honor this weekend my shivery friend! ps here in England, it's grey, drizzly, a mild 9' and MUDDY!

Ah, our heaviest snows come in March and April and the beginning of May, so if I were to start dreaming of Spring & Summer, I would be disapointed by the long wait. :)
I am however watching for the baby calves which will be born soon. It is such a joy to see them out in the pastures!
Have a lovely day, dear Zuzana!

Hi Zuzana
It's snowing here right now but I love it as the sun is shining on the snow and I see magical glistening diamonds!
We haven't had that much snow this winter.

Thanks for that wonderful video!
I so love the beach!
I have to say I love every season as they all have so much beauty!

Enjoy the day, may you find magic in it!

Pretty snow...but I agree! nothing can be compared to the wonderful sun :-)
Like you, I love sun, palm trees and the ocean. Pity I don't live so close to it like you, or Tina, but fortunately, I am currently enjoying beautiful ble skies, almost cloudless, sun, and warm temperatures...officially our summer is just a month away, but it's like we are in the early stages of it already. And I'm overjoyed :-)
Sending you warm thoughts Zuzana!!

The snow LOOKS wonderful. It's a different story though when you have to venture out in it and it can play havoc with peoples lives. So what a great distraction to dream of sunny places far away. Phew, I am exhausted now Zuzana after that fabulous virtual beach tour.

Deep sigh...such a beautiful clip. I may have to pop back over and look at it again over the next few days.

The media is telling us to expect 6-7 inches of snow tomorrow...time will tell.

Stay warm!

I'm so sorry you keep getting so much snow, Zuzana! It's been rainy here lately which I can't complain about.

I'm ready for summer too! I couldn't watch the video because then I'd be depressed knowing that I can't visit any of those wonderful beaches.

Occasionally, I take a mini-mind vacation to some wonderful place I've visited before. I"m thankful that the ability to dream is part of the human make-up. What a dreary world it would be without this.

I too share your acute longing for the summer and all that it brings... warm waters to swim in, harvesting of wonderful fruits and vegetables, the sand between my toes, a song in my heart. Patience will bring it all to us, we just have to hang in there a little more.

Zuzana,
I enjoyed your post today - Winter is lovely with the frosting of pure white snow, but I already miss the warmth and sunshine of south Florida and the Carribean which I left just yesterday. Jack Johnson's music was lovely with the video! The beach at St. Thomas was gorgeous - the sand was so white and in the harbor area the water was so deeply turquoise--beyond imagination! Looking forward to Spring! V.
