Romantic Summer.

Summer is often considered the season of love and romance. I am a summer child and a flower child and this is an absolute favorite time for an incurable romantic such as me. I do believe that ultimately love - any kind, in any form and at any age - is truly all we need.

I would like to share with you a very romantic, summery, almost twenty years old "one-hit wonder", which was - and still is - a very favorite song of mine. I used to dream myself away to this lovely piece as a young woman and was absolutely enthralled by everything about it; the images, the sentiment, the lyrics and the melody. To this day, every time I hear it, it still sends shivers down my spine. They just don't make music like this anymore...

I dedicate it to all the hopeless romantics out there.

"It's alright with me as long as you are by my side..."

Wow...it would be alright with me as long as HE was by my side too! WOW!! What a beauty!

That looks like a lake in Italy that I was at!

I'm telling you, THAT is what I am missing in my life...

Oh, I too, am a summer child and a hopeless romantic...this song is truly a masterpiece when it comes to sweet love!
I love summer...and find, now that it is July, that I start to feel anxious that it is going too quickly!
Have a wonderful weekend. I trust you will have some time to enjoy your garden!

To be completely honest, no I do not agree with the ending of Match Point. He gets away with it, clean free? It was a heinous crime he'll have to live with forever- but I can't get over how well the actor played his role, I guess it doesn't hurt that I have a major crush on the guy.. lol ;)

Thanks for the comments, pretty. TGIF<3

I think that the 80's were hands down the best music decade!!! That is a great song and I have never heard it before. Thanks for the treat.

I agree that summer is by far the romantic season. Dusk in the summer has a feeling unlike any other time that I can think of. I can't even put my finger on it. It is just this unexplainable, butterflies in my stomach, almost on the edge of nervous, fist love, first kiss, anything is possible kind of feeling. Did that even make sense? :)

I wonder, if forced to, what song you would dedicate to the cynical, unromantics among us (pointing to me). I say this, but then my favorite songs of all time are "What I Like About You" by The Romantics and "When You Say Nothing At All" by Alison Kraus, both romantic songs in their own ways.

=Mel,
I think we all are romantics deep down inside, some of us just admit to it more easily.;))
I love the one by Alison that you mention, as the lyrics are so poignant.;)
