Science Before Prose Writing.

Or work before pleasure.
Yesterday was such a grey, rainy, dark and cold Sunday. Indeed, it instigated a feel of December rather than May. In some way I did not mind as I was preoccupied with work. Instead of my usual blog writing and doing research for upcoming posts, I spend it on putting final touches to a scientific paper.

I enjoy writing research papers and particularly this one, as we are presenting something novel and intriguing to the world. Results like these are what makes science so very exciting and rewarding.
Therefore I have been a slacker when it comes to blogging and have been absent from your lovely places; thus forgive me if this week my visits as well as my writing here will be sporadic at the best. I simply have a deadline to meet.

I decided though to post my traditional Birch Tree update. As a very cold May ends, the tree and its surroundings are growing greener and summery. Even though as we stand on the threshold of another seasonal change, parting with spring is easy. It somehow feels as if it never really arrived this year at all...

Yes, I remember those weekends I worked because of deadlines too. I'm impressed though a scientific research paper. That sounds interesting. My deadlines consisted of meeting state heathcare filing due dates. I worked from home so in a sense I never left the office physically either. The call to work was always there. The one positive I had a short commute to work (LOL). Your yard is looking very lush. We are having cooler weather the last two days too. It got down to 36 degrees Saturday night and it's down in the 40s again tonight. Well, back to bed we are getting up early today for another travel day (going to Billings MT). Don't work too hard dear friend.

It's wonderful that the disciplines intersect so well for you. I hope you share a little bit about your science perspectives too some day.

Good luck with your research. And take all your time. We will wait.
The pictures look beautiful. The tree on the extreme right looks more greener.
Have a good day!:)

Well, I guess it must be difficult juggling between work and writing (blogging) when you're 'addicted' to both.I'll be facing this problem soon when I'll start research and writing my thesis. Though I'm given two years to submit it from just now! I'm attempting to complete it in less time. The trees are beautiful and the shades of colours amazing.
Very inspiring environment.Lucky you.

Scientific papers...hmmm sounds exciting dearest Zuzana.

Your beautiful garden is greener every day even if it's so insanely cold...17 Celsius in Budapest today...I can hardly believe...Somehow I fear this whole summer going to be like this...let's cross our fingers.

Much love to you!

Your birch tree has lightened up this past week! I've really enjoyed your weekly posts. It's very easy to look at something everyday and not see the changes so this has been quite interesting!

Saturday was windy and chilly. Yesterday was nice but today is cloudy and feels like it's about to rain any second! I hurried up this morning and got the yard mowed before it starts.

It doesn't feel like spring ever came here either!

Have fun working on that research paper! I'll be doing that soon too probably.

Yes, duty calls. We had a three-day weekend, and I resolved to work one of them--I was a slacker and will pay for it in the morning!

Love the tree pix! C

Yes very chilly here in England. My own Irishman arrived back from Chicago, feeling jet lagged and tired, so we spent a lovely quiet weekend closeted up indoors in front of the fire in the sitting room :D

Hey nice blog you got here.

You know the way you feel about spring, it's the same with us for the winters. Seems as if they never came.

Anyway, lovely photos!

It's great that the data-driven science part of your brain doesn't get in the way of your soul's ability to enjoy beauty and emotive expression.
