Flashback Friday: "I'll Be Waiting".

In music, sometimes the best happens when fusion is involved. Although I did not enjoy rock when I was young, I started to become fond of it as I grew older. Particularly when the Latin rhythms and jazz sound were added, I was hooked.

Such is the music of Carlos Santana and his band from the seventies. The below is my absolutely favorite track from the album Moonflower. The album contains other tracks which I enjoy, such as the very famous "She Is Not There". Still, the below has a certain "feel-good" vibe to it and to this day, it is included in my very best mix and played often on my lazy Saturday afternoons. I think the video accompanying this smooth jazz tune is filled with so very fitting images adequately describing the last few weeks of summer...

I always look forward to your Flashback Friday Protege to see what musical memory you will unveil. I confess that I don't have any Santana music! He/They were like somebody I would notice nearly all the time - on my way to work, on the bus or in the local supermarket, but never met or got to know. But that may change - I had a quick look at the Santana website and played some tracks and definitely I must explore more.
Have a great weekend - and enjoy your cool Santana Saturday afternoon!

yes! i like to listen smooth jazz or evergreens when blogging!

It's great to hear the words, lyrics!
Nowadays too much music is badly mixed and the result is a mess of noise...

Have a relaxing weekend! :)

Great. My favorites has always been pop. Some how I find it hard to adjust to rock when listening for long time.

I don't know too much Santana, but what I've heard has always come across as sexy and romantic in a way. I love the sensuous rhythms and the Latin beat. This is a great feature on your blog, Protege.

Great summery song indeed! And the vidoeo helps to give it that feeling also. I don't know much of Santana, though I've heard of him since I was a little girl. I became more acquainted with some of his music the last few years, as he had done some popular colaborations with other pop artists.

Enjoyed the song. Carlos Sanatana is one of my favorites too. I could only listen to hard rock for a brief few years other wise I tune into slow rock or country type of music. Offcourse country and Jazz sets the mood of the salon for me.
Have a great weekend!

Santana are one of my favourite bands - their Supernatural album is great. This song for Flashback Friday is Santana at their very best. Love the video, especially the dolphins!
