Look To The Rainbow...

During our stay in Switzerland, the weather was a mixed blessing of sun and rain. Even though we did wish for more sunshine than we received, the heavy clouds and the rain did surprise us one day with the most incredible rainbow I have ever seen.

While driving home one afternoon with my sister and my niece, suddenly the dark grey heavens were adorned with a double arch made of magnificent colours. The bow was so vivid and strong that it looked as if someone had just painted it over the sky. Spanning a full semi-circle, ending in the waters of the lake, it brought about a deep sense of enchantment, as if we were facing a gateway into the land of magic.

As we stopped and admired the colourful strokes set against the dark canvas, my five years old niece made a wish. I hope you will find the time to watch the video below to find out what she wished for...

That was a real, drop gorgeous rainbow and you filmed it beautifully. Now I hold my fingers crossed so your niece gets her wish forfilled.

The sun is shining what more can we wish for.

It is without a doubt the most complete and beautiful rainbow I have ever seen as well Zuzana and it must have been a really magic moment for you to witness it for real.
And I will be smiling all day at your niece's wish! I love the wonderful innocence of her whispering her wish into her mother's ear and her imaginative answer tells me she will be a famous scientist one day.
But the video also reveals a hidden talent - that of Zuzana the movie director. I am very impressed!

Lovely Zuzana, and do you know that song by Astrid Gilberto I have not heard it since I was a child.

I have often hummed it to myself wondering whether I had imagined it and here it is - an unspoken wish one fulfilled.

I always wanted to hear it again. This film, this rainbow, this music and these people are inspirational. You with the camera and the words, too. Thanks.

What a treasure! I've never seen such a beautiful rainbow in my life, much less a double one. Your love of nature makes you the perfect person to fully appreciate such a sight. I love seeing your niece skipping around in delight.

As to my pictures of Montreux, yes we did have good weather. Sunshine improves everyone's photos, especially mine. Thanks for your compliments. I appreciate that.

Ahhh...some bossa...very peaceful and relaxing :-)
Wonderful and very cool video!! Your niece is so pretty! :-) and so cute to make a wish. There was a rainbow around here some weeks ago, but failed to take a good picture. I was in the car, so I couldn't really capture anything "in the go".
This is a very unique rainbow!...rather mysterious I think. As if was a bubble protecting something...intriguing indeed.
Thank you for sharing such a nice natural and family experience.
have a great day!!

Beautiful shot. The rainbow looks like a clear demarcation on the sky, one side brighter than the other. I also loved the video.

You have done a fabulous job of making this video. It was delightful. Your niece sure is cutie.

On a silly note, the double rainbow reminded me of this video which Frank's son sent me a week or so ago.

The guy was certainly on something. ;)

Oh my! That little video was so charming(it should win an Oscar!)!

I have seen a double rainbow like that twice in my life, and the second time was this summer as we drove up to the mountains. It was on a stretch of highway that i usually dread but this time it was a magical experience seeing that huge double rainbow(and driving under it!)for what seemed like miles and miles.

Aww, that was very sweet. What a magnificent rainbow! The only time I have seen one similar was the day of my daddy's funeral. A magnificent double rainbow clear across the sky, touching the foothills of his beloved mountain on one side and the ground, seemingly, on the other. This reminded me of that day that the rainbow brought me comfort straight from God the Father. Thanks, Zuzana.

Wow a double rainbow. Your niece is very clever.
