The First Spring Sunset.

The sunsets are back.

March signifies the return of the sun - in no uncertain terms. The golden disc has once again returned to my westerly view, setting almost directly in this true cardinal direction.

Last weekend the skies were clear and my windows offered a view of the setting sun, for the first time this year. The event took slightly more than five minutes, although the skies remained light for almost an additional hour - thus the festival of the return of the light has once again begun.

Goood Morning Dear Lady, what a stunning sunset & don't they set so quickly. We've had red ones for the last week . . amazing but my camera just doesn't pick them up. The sky will never lose its fascination or beauty. I hope its the return of the sun, clear skies & warmer temperatures too :)
Hope you have a day filled with warmth & sunshine.

What a stunning view you have...it was completely overcast, gray, dark and ugly here today. And now it is going to rain all day...oh, well, the grass and plants will love all the rain. Have a lovely day Zuzana!

You've captured the beauty of the setting sun here very nicely. Hope you are doing good today. Sometimes I almost think I have cabin fever with wanting spring to come real soon. I know it will be a lot of work, but I'm actually looking forward to mowing the lawn. Take care! :)

So pretty, Zuzana. Do they have any kind of celebrations to honor the return of the sun this time of the year?

Hi Zuzana...love these sunset photos! Sunset (and sunrise) are two of the most meaningful times for me. It's in these transitions that inspiration can be found...

The sun never ceases to fascinate us. It is beautiful. At first I read your post as sunRISE pictures, which made me feel lazy, because I never get up that early! ;-))

The return of the sun in the spring is highly anticipated in Scandinavia, although the celebration is more symbolic. It is first at the time of the summer solstice that the Scandinavians party.;)
I however find the return of my sunsets a reason to celebrate - much more than the longest night in June - as the solstice then signifies that the light is culminating and thus the days will be getting shorter again.
To me rather the onset of March means that the best time of the year is about to begin.

Thank you all for your continuous visits and lovely comments, they mean the world to me.;)

Xoxo
