As we approach mid autumn, the foliage is now visibly changing, progressively by each day. The colour display will intensify over the next couple of weeks and the approaching culmination will be short lived. The weather pattern has so far produced rainy days with gorgeous sunny days in between, but the lack of frost will most likely not result in a colour display that will match the one of last year.I went to my local garden center yesterday in search of new autumn flowers for my terrace. I love to stroll slowly along isles and paths, full of green and at this time, colorful plant life. It was an early afternoon and the center was still quiet, devoid of customers. There is a certain tranquility that envelops my senses in places like that.
I enjoyed particularly to walk among the young trees and shrubs, so many different kinds all gathered in one spot. Their leaves flaunted fall beauty in a palette of earthy nuances. Even though it was a misty, grey day, the display of golden, copper and red was so very obvious.
These are the colours of October, creating painted landscape and picturesque settings, a grand display of Autumns true flamboyance.

What delicious colours! You are ahead of us here in England, there is not a great deal of autumn colour here just yet. What I keep seeing (and must treat myself too), is Michaelmas daisies, they are a real autumn favourite of mine. xx

The colors of autumn certainly give the colors of springtime a run for the money. I soooo totally prefer autumn richness over springtime girly, pink colors.

Beautiful fall foliage! Our trees are barely showing color. It has been so dry, I'm afraid we won't have a pretty display this year. Enjoy all of those glorious reds!

I love all the colors in that collage! Sooooo pretty! I've looked but I really don't see many fall changes here. I'm sure they're coming though. One day it's warm, then it's cold. Nature hasn't decided what it wants to do yet so until then, I guess it's just staying the same.

It is a beautiful time of year, isn't it? Our fall colors will probably peak this week.
It is very fun to browse through a garden center, isn't it? I'm always amazed at the variety and even finding a few new things.
