The meteorologists promised us sunshine and blue skies, instead we are getting rain and fog. But, the air is warm, the birds are singing and the rain creates a scent of spring. There clearly is no way back now, winter is retreating.
This inspired me to drive all the way to the other side of town to buy the first spring flowers to plant in my terrace pots this year. I also got 80 liters of new compost soil for my bushes, clematis and rhododendron (that was a heavy one to carry). I am therefore still keeping my hopes up for some sunshine and gardening comes tomorrow.
Today instead of being outside, I am trying to relax, in front of the fire in my fireplace, maybe the last time this season. Perhaps next weekend it will be too warm to make a fire. I love my Saturday afternoons with coffee and white chocolate, while listening to Diana Krall. Her voice is very relaxing and soothing. I am leaving you with her lovely version of Burt Bacharach's " The Look Of Love".

Love Diana Krall :) It's raining here, too, but not so warm. We're getting (for once) what the weatherman predicted. We got snow on Thursday night, too (but it's all gone now). Anyway, the rain's to continue through next weekend... not that I mind :)
Who cares about the weather when you have a coffee and chocolate listening to a beautiful, romantic song in front of the fire?! Enjoy!
I wish you lived closer! I LOVE Diana Krall and coffee and white chocolate and sitting by the fire!!
Hope the weekend is great!!!
Sounds like a Saturday I would love to have! Beautiful flower pics!
xoxo, Shelly
You're doing way better than we are. There are still patches of snow and the ground isn't completely unfrozen. We still dip significantly below freezing at night and not too high above it during the day. Spring happens more slowly around these here parts! Lovely flowers though.. I'm envious.
I'm hoping you'll keep us posted as your gardening gets under way. I can live vicariously through your gardening adventures!
Tiny shoots of green are showing in our back lawn. Yay!
It's raining here today too. My snowdrops are blooming. And it has warmed up considerably. Because of daylight savings time it is daylight until 7 at night. It is time for the yard work to begin.
It's my first time listening to Diana Krall ( how could I miss her before?) This song is romantic and soothing to listen. Hope the spring will bring in more pictures of flowers soon.
Oh, you bought flowers for your garden? Wow, gardening tomorrow sounds fun and relaxing! I'm excited for you to see more of sunny sunshine soon! Boo to bad weather. More flower power please! hehe
Diana Krall is love! :)
=Diane,
I hope you will get some sunshine son as well. They promised us some for the weekend, so far noting at all. But at least it is warm, around 12C, which is unusual for March.;) Glad you like Diana Krall too.;))
=swenglishexpat,
you are very correct; I will!;) Hope your weekend was relaxing as well.;)
=Julie,
my sentiments exactly. Likewise I hope yours was lovely in sunny California.;))
=Shelly,
thank you so much. Yes the nature is waking up here; I love spring actually, only wish the sun would shine a bit more.;)))
=Hilary,
yes I was in complete awe of the ice rocks that you have around in your parts. That is truly so amazing. Only once I remember winter being here around until April, it was in 2006 when it kept snowing and my mother had ice in her garden until May.
Hope you had a great weekend, dear friend..;))
=sallymandy,
I promise to keep uploading pictures of my plants and flowers; the difference between the seasons on my terrace is quiet significant.;)
Hope you had a lovely weekend.;))
=steviewren,
it must be nice with the daylight until 7PM. Here we will change back first in the end of March.
Hope your weekend was great.;))
=Mahmud,

I will make sure flower pictures will be uploaded along the way.
Hope your weekend was great.;))
=Noelle,
yes I did buy flowers and planted them today, although he weather was still rainy and foggy.
Glad you like Diana too.;))
I hope your weekend was great sweetie.;))
That this might be your last fire this season makes me think about the fact that I've been reading your blog for a full season, since you lit your first fire back in the fall. Cool!
=Mel,
yes, that is truly cool, glad that you stuck with me for this long and have not gotten bored yet.;)
xoxo
You have some lovely pics...
=Phoenix,
thank you so much.;)) And thanks for stopping by.;)
