Slush Ice.

The first snow is enchanting and alluring.
When the initial snowflakes appear, I watch them with such delightful intensity, as if I have never seen snowfall before. Indeed, how differently I perceive this wintry precipitation late in the season, when it comes across as impeding and distressing.

We got our first and very brief taste of winter this week, when sleet swept over the country, leaving behind slippery roads, snow dusted fields and wet snow in our streets - for a few hours only, melting away quickly in the fragile rays of the early winter sun.

Of course, I simply had to capture the first snow with my camera and thus I hope you will indulge me one more time, as I share with you the images of our overgrown lawn. I have shown it previously covered with droplets of dew in early autumn and the first frost in late October.
Here it is hence once again covered in slush ice.

Slush on grass can look lovely Zuzana, especially when it moves to snow at the height of winter and then back to grass in spring.

Beautiful, is all that I can say. The picture is worth a thousand words and I won't say anything else, lest the magic disappears.

Glad to see the visual delights of this new place as well.

Joy always,
Susan

The images are wonderful. At the moment we have sunshine on our danish peninsula, the sky is blue and it makes life so much better.

Have a wonderful day without a too heavy workload.

Zuzana...you captured it beautifully. What impresses me most about these snaps is the vibrant green under the slush. SO pretty.

It's like someone left the freezer door open ... to the world.

Well done Zuzana. I like your perspective from the warmth of inside versus crunching through that stuff while walking the dog--an activity done often here.

Love the bright green against the stark white.
We had a snow of big, fluffy flakes that turned into slush quickly.

It's so pretty. Thousands of diamonds in the grass to collect and cherish.
Too bad they melt.:)

I still have snow in my back yard but it's melted from the front yard.

I'm hopeful that it won't snow again until after next week and that it'll all be done by the time school starts back up again in January. It's pretty but I don't like driving in it.

The slush looks beautiful against the vibrant green grass. But slush will turn to snow-- but I hope not for a while yet. Stay warm and dry.

The photos are beautiful. Thanks for sharing them. I'm impressed that the grass is still so green and it's snowing. Nature and it's contrasts always amazes me.

These pictures hold a special beauty from some who lives in an area where it rarely gets below freezing. We tend to yearn for something we can't have. Magnificent.
