If I had to define the month of May here in Scandinavia with only one word, it would be raps. That is the Danish word for rapeseed. During mid-spring, their blossoms create oceans of yellow, covering the landscape, contrasting in perfect harmony with the blue of the sky and the green of the forests and fields.
Whenever I have the privilege to take walks in nature when these fields are in bloom, the experience is incredibly revitalizing. The breeze makes the long stalks sway, resembling rippled surface on a sea of sunshine. The golden colour has such a soothing effect on ones well being, as it signifies life and warmth. Additionally, rapebloom carries a deep sweet scent, and the perfumed air completes the experience, satisfying all the senses.
Add a clear, spring sunny day to the mix and the result is the beauty of a natural splendour and a joy of a simple pleasure.

Beautiful photos Zuzana! And speaking of beautiful photos...your new profile photo is just stunning. I know that you are a beautiful woman inside but that photo clearly shows how incredibly beautiful you are on the outside. Such blue eyes and that thick long hair (to die for)...wow!
Oh how I do agree with you. I just love the month of May just because it is soo gorgeous out in the fields, the yellow can be blinding but it is such a big sign of spring.
Just fantastic!!!!
It looks a yeallow sea!
p.s.
...my boyfriend saw your photo and told me that you are very very nice!
Interesting how seasons work differently in each corner of the world, huh? While sun is coming your way, and things are brighter by the day on your side of the world, here in Guatemala May is synonym of change, as we go from our hot and sunny days towards rainy, cloudy and cooler ones, with, I'm sad to say, a grey feel. While I am not fond of change and handle it not very nicely, and even though the rainy and grey almost always get me into a blue state, I have to say that this transition is actually kind nice, as not only I get to admire and experience nature and weather phenomena, but also because it leads us all to a different part of the year. I hope you are enjoying the brighter days!! hugs from Guatemala!
These images are incredible Zuzana and refreshing. Thanks for visiting! Good to see you here.

Lovely images Zuzana - the contrast of the blue sky with the fields of yellow rapeseed is simply wonderful. They brighten up the landscape here on a cloudy day ... but joy of joys we have sunshine now and its lovely and warm!!
Have a good weekend.

That's absolutely beautiful Zuzana. I like that you consider it a privilege to walk in nature. The nature that surrounds you, supports you. I'm glad for that too.
This is what we must have miles and miles of in the Prairie Provinces. When we drive by it smells unbelievably nice.Almost hypnotizes you.
Beautiful shots Zuzana :)
Dear Zuzana,
I looked at every photo three or four times. Lovely, lovely.
Thank you for this wonderful posting!

Zuzana,in East Anglia, where I live now, the fields are a mass of bright acid-yellow rape. They are indeed very dramatic but I do question how it affects the appearance of our beuatiful English countryside which is traditionally a rather washed out grey/green.
Whenever I See A Beautiful Field of Rapeseed I Imagine A Crazy Artist Planted In The Middle of It splashing Colour Furiously !!!!!!
Gorgeous!!!
A field of rape can be a wonderful sight on a dull day - like a field of sunshine. It's grown a lot in the UK now though when I was a child it wasn't something you'd see in the English countryside.
My jaw dropped when I saw your photos-- What an absolutely gorgeous place to live. There are flowers as far as the eye can see.
:-)
