Frozen Dew.

We have now passed mid fall, thus the first frost covers the ground, clearly visible upon daybreak.
This past week, getting ready to hang up new washed laundry in the morning sun, I had to walk onto our lawn, which is now mid calf length - not that we care too much.

The air was still and cool and there was a promise of a beautiful sunny autumn day in store. Areas of grass not heated yet by the sun were covered by multitude of water crystals and beads of frozen dew - a stunning, nevertheless fleeting architecture in ice.

Nature is an endless source of magic. Just a couple of weeks ago, the sense of summer hang in the air, as spiders spun their webs among the slender green straws, covered with brilliant dew. Yet now they are long gone, and the ice in the grass announces in no uncertain terms that the countdown to winter has truly begun.

Lucky you. These drops almost look like diamonds and are oh! so pretty. I almost felt like grabbing them and eating them (I know it seems funny).

The green and the silver are an excellent combination, don't you think?

Thanks for these splendid picture, Zuzana.

Joy always,
Susan

Dear Zuzana

You have captured such detail with these photos. Isn't it amazing how an inocuous blade of grass can be so beautiful when viewed up close.

No frost here as yet but there is a definite hint of chill in the air!

How pretty. No frost here yet, but the leaves are changing and we brought the electric heaters down from the attic today.
I can't wait for our first fire place fire of the season!

Sorry I haven't been by lately. Trying to stay on top of everyone's blogs is difficult now with school and work.

You always manage to find the most amazing beauty in the smallest details. I envy that about you.

Where I would curse the frost, you take a moment to enjoy and appreciated it.

We don't get frost like that here in the desert. Thanks for reminding me what colder weather is like. The pictures are so vivid.
Nice that you enjoy all seasons.

You are a poet, and you capture these changes with a poet's heart. The change is subtle and sudden at the same time.

i love these images and your description of that shift in season. for us, you really notice when the crickets stop chirping at night. the earth is turning and the pull of winter is powerfully apparent.

i can't get over the crystals on the grass blades of that last foto. it must have been difficult to get that shot! ;-)

wishing you a blessed week ahead,

Dear friends, our lawn, which still has not not been mow, is lying down and looks as if it belongs to a deserted house.;)

I do not mind though, as I like that idea of a wild garden, that is untamed and free. I am looking forward to take care of it with a more loving care comes spring.;)

Thank you all for your kind words when it comes to my photography, but as always - nature and my camera deserve all the credit.;))

Xoxo
