Jade And Silver.

Sea is my fascination.
In case you have not noticed.
The vast body of water instigates in my perception a sense of endless liberation. Thus living in proximity to an ocean is almost a must for me.

I left behind the Danish east coast and a beautiful, calm and tranquil bay - something I will always miss.
However, my new home is a stone-throw away from stunning, wide, westbound beaches, surrounded by the powerful North Sea.

I will forever stand in awe on the shores of this untamed body of blue. To be there - at any time - is simply one of a kind experience. There is an indescribably potent force in these tempestuous waters, something that became lucidly evident on our most recent walk.

It was in the late afternoon, during somewhat mixed weather conditions which included sun, wind and rain. Even though the air was still relatively warm, the change of seasons hung heavily in the air, producing sights that reinforced the omnipotence of this unspoiled and pristine coastline.
There was a sense of raw power in the foaming waves, as the jade green waters rose high against the dark blue horizon, their ridges turning into salty aerosol at the mercy of the wind. The thunderheads drew closer and eventually the surrounding landscape grew simply enchanted, as the sun rays painted the surf in silver, creating a fantasy snapshot, eternalizing an unforgettable moment in time...

My sweet Sweety, this is a post that fills my heart with joy and longing. You know how much I love to be at the beach and watch the sea in all its movement. This gives me such a sense of peace. Unfortunately, no beach time for me today, maybe a quick trip during the weekend, who knows.

Enjoy your day, hope you have some sunshine.

Your post and photos are beautiful. The feeling of liberation and harmony is definitely what the sea means to me. Living away from it I couldn't. I need its tranquillity, its freshness, the waves on the rocks and the wet sand.
It is a magical place for me where every dream is possible, my mind wander. When I want to feel close to my husband who is fishing, I sit down and look at her, she brings him back to me.
Peace and Harmony.

The ocean is so beautiful and so powerful. I love to hear the waves washing in and crashing against the shore. It can be a relaxing sound, yet somehow disconcerting a times, if we remember the strength that the ocean possesses.
Your photos are amazing!

Wow - fabulous shots. The emerald and the sapphire are so gorgeous together. Mesmerizing.

I've lived near the sea for a large part of my life and really miss it.

Dear Zuzana, I also live on the North Sea coast. (The ferry to Denmark takes only three to five hours:) Just yesterday I walked to a nearby beach and the wind was strong and driven and I watched the waves crash onto the shore. I thought that there is something so calming in watching the fury of the sea...or any natural element. I always feel at my most tranquil when the weather is wild around me.

Your photos are stunning. I hope you have a beautiful evening. Love to you...

What wonderful pictures! I love the changing clouds and especially that last one - so glowering and with the rain in the far off distance.

Zuzana, thank you for these beautiful photos. They are truly magnificent. You've helped me understand my husband's longing for the sea. I am happy with mountains and desert, but he loves the ocean.

Maybe I drowned in a previous life or something but large bodies of water scare me.

Beautiful pix, though!

I was born inland and didnt know the ocean until my visit to the States when I was 11. In my adult life I have developed a fascination for water. A vacation is not a vacation if I don't wake up and see a lake or the ocean.

When I read your appreciation of the ocean you express what I and most of us feel when in front of that body of water, but seeing it through your eyes brings it so close to home I can almost smell the salt in the air.

Zuzana Dear,
I am catching up on your posts and I am so happy for you in your new life! As you feel for the sea, I feel for the Rocky Mountains, and I miss them constantly. I have to see them as often as possible and immerse myself in the feeling of the woods and the waterfalls.

Your pictures always blow me away-they are so beautiful, as is your writing. I will be waving to you across the waters this week as I visit Cape Cod. Have a lovely week!
Hugs,
Sherry
