Enchanted Winter.

It has been the most beautiful winter week I can ever recall from my years in Denmark. Each morning the landscape outside my windows looked as if taken from a page of a fairytale book.

The temperatures have been below freezing and almost ever day we received fresh snow. Today is a stunning sunny day, bitterly cold but vind-still. The sun is now on its lowest position in the sky, barely reaching above the horizon. I can just about see it out of my windows, as it casts its golden glow across the packed snow, sending us into an unusual daylight.
The day lasts only a few hours, but it's light lifts my spirits in an uncommon way, as it brings back memories of my childhood. The time of cold and clear winters, spend in the mountains, where the air was fresh and the snow ever so present.

This is the winter weather that I love. The enchanted winter that defines this cold season and makes it ever so appealing.

Before I clicked on your blog, I was hoping you would have posted pictures of your snow. My wish came true. The sky and the snow combination couldn't be prettier, especially the snow on the evergreen trees. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

With the snow gently falling on your BLOG page, the candle slowly counting down the days before Christmas, and your Winter Wonderland photos I feel like I’m being transported to the magical Christmases of my youth. I also see that your attitude towards winter has changed from earlier postings. I think that’s why I enjoy reading your blog, it give me an uplifting sensation. Have a great weekend.

Delightful post, Zuzana! I am so happy that you are enjoying the snow. :)

This is my most favorite time of the year. The air is clear and I can see the tiniest details of the Continental Divide from my tiny house. I love how quiet it gets, and how cozy home feels.

Wishing you a beautiful weekend, dear friend!

Your snow pictures are so lovely. I like the way you arrange them in your collage – which collage do you use – is it from Photo Elements? I just purchased this program but I have not downloaded it yet. The post before the one I posted last night was called Wishing for Snow – as we did not get any in 2009. It is snowing quite a lot up north and I hear the airports in Washington and Philadelphia are closed. Here in Atlanta it is still around 10 degrees. Going to your blog is like entering a winter fairyland.

The pictures do look straight out of the fairy tale picture book.
All of Europe is so white this week. The passengers inside the chanel tunnel last night seems to have gone through a horror story.
Today the White house has become whiter. So mother nature has given a double "thumps Up"to global warming it seems!

Our snow has melted but we're supposed to get some more tomorrow. Hope not or if we do, I hope it melts overnight as I have some errands to run in another town about 45 miles away on Monday and I don't want to drive in it.

Your pictures are truly beatiful. I love the blue lighting. Funny how I can enjoy the beauty of snow in pictures but not in person.

Zuzana,
Sounds like you are ready for a warm fire, a favorite drink, and a good comfort book. Winter has set in and from what you've shared with pictures of your home, you are sure to enjoy the cozy atmosphere I'm sure that it displays. As always, great pictures... the countdown is closer....5 days to shop! The Bach
