Connected To Fall And Awards.

I have been given two wonderful awards in the recent week and I would like very much to acknowledge the kind award givers, both beautiful and talented ladies. It never ceases to amaze me that people think I am worthy such an attention and I cherish each occasion, when I receive these.

The first was given to me by the hip and cool MelRoXx and is called "Your Blog Is So Swank". The other was bestowed upon me by the very lovely and talented gaelikaa, and has the very splashing title "Splash Award".

Thank you ladies, these deserved to be given back to you with the same token they were given to me.

On another note I made a visit to the lovely blogthings again and took a test, to see which season my soul is connected too. I was amazed by the outcome, as I definitely am a summer child.
But I guess, my soul thinks otherwise.

Spring At Its Peak.

This is the last day of April, which has been the most beautiful spring month on record, at least here in Denmark. With more sun hours and less rain than normal for even the summer months, it has also been extraordinary warm. Honestly, if June and July will be anything like our April was, we can conclude that the summer was better than good.

Almost as if on cue, there is a weather change in store for us comes the weekend. The wind is shifting, bringing in humid air from the large Atlantic ocean in the west, which means we are back to the somewhat normal Scandinavian spring; rain, cold air, wind and clouds.
Well, it was good as long as it lasted. Hopefully May will not be a total washout.

I found this little quiz, titled "What part of spring are you?" on the lovely blogthings site and considering that we have reached the middle of the spring season by now, I decided to post it.
I have to say that the result is spot on, at least for me.

Today is Friday, my favorite day of the week. Everything feels easier, even the getting up in the morning. Fridays are like sneak previews of the weekend ahead. Well, to me, they are actually the beginning of the weekend.
My mood is usually very optimistic and I feel happy. Or excited, as the little quiz at the infamous blogthings tells me.;)

I Am A Daydreamer.

I know the news are full of the Academy Awards, but I do not watch the Oscars ever as I am not keen on being up at 3am on a Sunday night in order to watch the show live here in Europe. And who wants to see reruns of the Oscars? All I therefore get is the recap of the show on the morning news, or more likely get to read the list of the winners on the on-line news agents.

There are a few sites on the net that I like to visit once in a while, when I run empty and out of things to write about here. When my days are a bit boring and nothing much is happening, like on this last Monday in February.

A Cartographer.

Today is the first day in February. The name is derived from Latin, meaning purification. The weather outside is terrible, it is windy and bitterly cold. The forecasts calls for snow, but so far it only looks like snow. I hope it will remain that way, as at this point I am so ready for spring.

I visited Blogthings today and took a fun quiz. Apparently in the Medieval times I would have been a Cartographer and in modern times a Scientist. Interesting, as I am a Biochemist which means that I apparently did choose the correct profession.

Hot Chocolate.

Hot chocolate is the "Drink of Gods". That is what the lovely BPG calls a version of it in one of her posts (and I absolute agree with her), where she shares a delicious recipe. I have completely forgotten about that wonderful beverage this winter season. And today is a day as if made for a cup of hot, creamy, wonderfully scented chocolate, to be enjoyed at home in front of the fireplace.

I woke up to a very windy and dark morning. Honestly, it was on of those mornings when I do have a dialogue in my head with myself; one part is persuading me to finally get out of bed, the other is saying it is inhuman to be dragged out of bed and I should just call in sick.;) Well the first part always wins eventually.;)

While driving to work, I was contemplating whether it will even get light today. The ocean, that I pass on my way, was raging. It was a magnificent sight; the waves were crushing against the shore violently, the color of the water was a mix of dark green and grey. The white foam made the ocean look wild and free, while the sky was very low and thick with clouds the colour of ashes. The wind is so strong it takes hold of everything and moves the air around and anything with it.
As this weather was truly frightening, I came to think about drinking something warm and comforting. I therefore picked up box of hot Chocolate during my usual Friday grocery shopping and made myself a cup as soon as I came to the lab.
