The Reign Of Night.

The day of the winter solstice is a time of celebration for all of us here in the cold North. It indicates a conclusion of the reign of Night and the end of the period of perpetual twilight, which has ruled our world for the past many months.

The shortest day is upon us - yet slowly, by each week, light will commence its return, signifying that the best lies ahead.

Nevertheless, until the reign of light fully announces its presence, we take comfort in another kind of illumination - the multitude of candles that spread joy and create that one of a kind atmosphere throughout our homes, signaling that Christmas is almost here.

The best always still lies ahead :)
Our snow is gone and it's back to green every where. Was nice while it lasted. Loved watching the snow fall.
Maybe it will delight us again soon because it's still frosty outside.
Love the lights.

Thank you for your sweet Christmas card email! It was kind of you to think of me. I haven't gotten my cards out yet this year. It's already the 21st, so I need to get on that!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Finally the wintersolstic is there, after days of just grey darkness I'm so grateful for the minutes of extra light that lay ahead.

The candles are burning, the christmaslights are doing their very best and knowing sunlight is returning to us makes it perfect.

Merry Christmas Sweety to you and your beloved family.

Although the worst is yet to come as the coldest days could be lurking around, I feel as if I had reached a milestone when the first day of winter comes. Once it's here, I can deal with it. Waiting for it makes it unbearably long.
Merry Christmas dear Zuzana. So happy you have found this much happiness.

Light by candle is the most comforting and inviting light of all. And your delicious pictures prove it.

Hugs and Merry Christmas.
