Empty Rooms...

Last Candle Light
Empty rooms...
That is the last image of the white house imprinted in my memory.
Yet, also smiling faces of my new tenants ready to move in.
A deliciously melancholic mix.

Nevertheless, I have now left my former home behind, in the hands of a new family.
But not before I spend one very last weekend there getting it ready for the new occupants.
I was very appropriately alone, as my man was once again out of town through his work and this final stay was exactly as I envisioned it would be; strenuous, endless work mixed with wonderfully bittersweet recollections.

The house parted with me in style - I got to see a magnificent sunrise and a stunning late fall sunset. I watched a large red moon rise in the north and I enjoyed the warmth of the fire and the beautiful westbound views - all for one last time.
Finally, I lit one last candle in the old lantern, the one that once - those eighth years ago - held the first candle light when I moved in...

I got to say my good byes and now it is time for a new wonderful chapter in my life to start, one that I have been waiting for so long - my whole life it seems.
And I am looking forward to share it with all of you.

My personality usually suffers a lot in presence of a change,I'm like a tree getting roots and looking to build my life there. It's my nature, but often creating myself many problems. We should live like water.

Good morning Sweety,

You made some stunning pictures again while being in the White house during the weekend. I love the White house but I am so, sooo, soooooooooo happy for you and mr.. The love you two have for each other is the only thing that really counts.

Have a wonderful day and I'll talk to you soon.

Somehow I feel a bit misty-eyed when I read this almost like parting from a friend. Nevertheless, Zuzana, I am happy that life is opening a beautiful gate for you and Mr. Zuzana. I wish only the best for both of you.

Blessing and joy in abundance.

Be passionate and happy,
Susan

I love the idea of saying goodbye to a place, to stay a while and recall the many memories it contains. It looks like a beautiful home you had, now I wish you all the best for the future and your new life, your new home and a candle that will light your first night.
Have a beautiful day Zuzana!

i am glad you got to have those tender silent last goodbyes with that old place...it carried much memories and i think the candle lighting was a fitting tribute to them as you move forward. peace to you friend.

Glad you were able to reflect and say goodbye.

I was always disappointed that my parents waited until the last minute to tell me that they were selling my childhood home (I lived out of state). I would have liked to absorb the moment and take time to reflect on a place that was so much a part of my life.

You've said a lovely goodbye to your house.. your home. May your future shine as brightly as that candle flame. As brightly as that sunrise. As soothing as the sunset. And as constant as the moon.

I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry...nothing wrong with doing both, but crying first, laughter heals a lot of woes!

I am so very, happy for you Zuzana!! No one deserves such happiness more than you!!! :-)

Hello Zuzana, how very amiss of me not to have visited you before now and thank you for your comments regarding Jewel. I am only now just getting back to blogging and finally catching up with everyone. So please accept my apologies and thanks.
So pleased you have someone to look after your lovely house now. It seems a fitting farewell. I will look back through your posts, but later as the hounds are telling me it's time for their walk. Take care. x

what a farewell! You paint such a beautiful picture, that I wish I was the tenant moving into the White House.
I normally don't miss things unless they are associated with people. I look at an exit on the highway when I met a friend for the last time. It still makes me sad.
I'm sure there are many feelings and memories associated with our little house and the new place will bring new memories, new images and much more happiness.

It's always hard to part with a house you've loved. But I know you're embarking on a new and wonderful voyage. Not alone this time, so the journey will be full of the surprises and wonders that another human being can give. Lots of luck to you Zuzana and thank you for sharing these times with you.

It was a beautiful weekend and I felt everything was concluded and ended as it should be. I have no regrets and I do not miss the white house - as I carry away with me so many lovely memories from my years living there and I know it was time to move on.

My new tenants seem to enjoy living there as much as I did and the though of the house having life again warms my heart and soul.
I look forward to create a new home and to create new memories of unforgettable moments, as I do so.

Thank you again everyone for sharing with me your sympathies and thoughts on my relocation and my new start - your visits and words are endlessly cherished by me.

Xoxo,
Zuzana
