A Touch Of Frost.

At this point, most of the foliage is found on the ground, as it piles up in heaps everywhere, creating a colourful blanket for a short, brilliant while. Before long, it will start decaying, becoming a warm cover for the plant and animal life concealed beneath it, in search of the anticipated winter sleep.

The frequency of frosty nights is increasing and with it, a new kind of art is to be found in nature. A gentle, still only very delicate icing, defining the image of leaves, at times resembling sprinkled sugar coat.
Signaling in no uncertain terms that the arrival of winter is imminent.

Note: To those of you have some spare time and interest, I am a featured as a guest blogger today on my friends Laura's blog. She is a wonderful writer and genuinely kind woman and a true inspiration to me and I am deeply honored she asked me to contribute with a post this month.

Very pretty!! I never saw anything like that before. Very...unique!
That spiky green mixed with grass in the last picture, do you its name? My mom calls it "cola de ardilla" (squirrel tail) and has a pot of it. Nice coincidence! :o)
Off to read your guest blog entry at Laura's.
have a great day!!

We haven't had many frosts here just yet but with temps plunging to zero tonight I hope to wake up to a beautiful frost tomorrow!

Gorgeous photos Zuzana and with just a delicate sprinkling of frost, the foliage looks so vibrant.

I have just popped over to Laura's lovely blog and left a message for you.

Thank you for your good wishes today dear friend.

Such beautiful photos Zuzana...I love the way the frost brings definition to the edges of things and the strong skeletal forms of the trees as they gradually emerge from their colorful leafy garments.

Thank you so much dear one for hosting at my blog today, truly I am honored!

But Zuzana, I am sure that you are joking, aren't you? Here, the fallen leaves do not create colourful patterns or anything of the sort. No. They are already in a lot of big industrial bags. In fact they are gone where they do what they have to do with dead leaves and such...

Brown, brown, brown. Except the lawn, still green, and the lake in front, a brilliant blue! :-)

the onset of winter and snow - for me it existed only in my imagination for a long long time. ten years back i made my first visit to the US - and winter was demystified - but did not lose its charm, just as the monsoons that i have lived and grown up with continues to move me.

nature despite it repetitious mood swings is ever new - -

No sign of frost here, it's too wet, and quite mild still. I love frosty mornings, as long as they're not too cold!

such magnificent images, zuzana! just beautiful - here, in the deep south of the US it is still summer with temps in the 80s and beautiful sunshine!

Frost can be so pretty sometimes! Still not a big fan of it though just because it means the cold weather is here.

Off to read your guest post. Have a lovely day, Zuzana!

Wonderful frost photos - you captured the change of seasons perfectly. Despite getting a lot of nights below freezing, frost like this isn't common where I live because it's too dry.

Yes, beautiful pics! The frost looks like sugar.

The pictures were a treat, dear Zuzana. How you thrill us with your discoveries and pictures and make us yearn for something like the sights in the pitures. The leaves captured leave a mystic trail on my mind. Wonder why!

Joy always,
Susan

I love the sugar coated beauty of these images. You have a keen eye for the changes Mother Nature makes from season to season. We haven't had a frost yet this year, which is pretty unusual for November.

I love the *icing* on all the leaves and plants. I often leave plants in the gardens for that reason, as I love to see them filled with frost and then snow. It certainly IS an art form.
Your leaf photo is beautiful. happy day!
