Touch Of Autumn...

However much I try to ignore the signs, the change of seasons is absolutely imminent. Mister Summer is departing and as he blows me covert kisses while he saddles his horse, I am forced to reluctantly watch him leave.

Still, I know that his departure, however painful it might be, is only temporary and in less than a year he will be back. Thus instead of weeping bitter tears, this time around I will relish in the beauty of all the seasons, as they all posses a certain charm, if one cares to look.

Lady Autumn is no exception. A kindred spirit almost, that jovial, colourful Lady with all her changing moods - anything from melancholy and dark skies, threatening storms and pounding rain, to soft sunlight, that breaks through the morning mist over a painted landscape upon the turn of the foliage.

Autumn is beautiful, flamboyant, rich and sensual, so appealing in all the splendor of her mature beauty. I am looking forward to befriend this seductive Lady this year. And as the anticipation builds within me, I try savor the first onset of her imminent presence, which can now be felt almost everywhere in my surroundings; in the rich berries, the autumn harvest and the first copper and golden leaves.

Immediately my mind goes to Keats and his "To Autumn."

"Seasons of mists and mellow fruitfulness"

I take pleasure in inviting Lady Autumn along with you Zuzana. She is special to me as it was during her time, I came into this world.

As I always say, the changes in the season are no better described than here. You are a keen and avid observer!

Have a lovely Sunday, Zuzana.

Joy always,
Susan

You conjure up the colours of autumn beautifully here, Zuzana, such warmth before the white and blue cold of winter. Thanks

We're on the one wavelength.
Autumn is the one I hate, and I resist it all the way.
But somehow, reading here, I'm getting some acceptance of it. I think it's the beauty of your words and pictures, those rubies are hard to resist.
Love the analogy to a lover!
Have a fab weekend, Zuzana.

Excuse my ignorance, but what kind of berries are those? Are they cherries?

I love the colors of your autumn. So far ours is gray...dried up and gray. It needs to rain soon.

We aew on the same wavelength again, I was snapping the berries and fruits on our walk this morning. Autumn is my favourite season by far. Love your collage.

Fall is my favorite season. Maybe because I was born in Autumn.

It's still warm here but some evenings have a slight fall feel to them. The summer was so hot and humid the glass is brown in spots still. The fall rains should bring it back to green once they start. We loved the long, light days up in Canada and Alaska this summer. I hate when it gets dark early and if we didn't have the holidays I couldn't stand the dark. Have a lovely weekend Zuzana.

Between the excruciating heat and illnesses I am 'thrilled' to say goodbye to the summer of 2010. Fall is my favorite season. It’s cooler weather, the cornucopia of colors and the fun of setting up for Halloween makes this an exhilarating time of the year. I like how your attitude towards the change of seasons is more positive and upbeat this year.

Oh yes, those red berries and mushrooms look like Fall is moving into our world. It's hard not to shed a tear or two though:)

I'm feeling the end of this one, too. I am in my shorts but should have pants on. I will regret it later. Beautiful post. Thanks.

I don't particularly care for autumn because it tends to bring the cold weather with it but I do like to watch the changing colors of the trees. So pretty!

Have you ever thought of putting together a photography blog? You always have such beautiful pictures.

I hope your life being turned upside down is for a good reason and nothing bad. And hopefully it'll be back to normal very soon!

It's hard for me to let go of summer even though I'm ready for fall. Your photos are beautiful, Zuzana, and it looks like autumn has arrived. Here in NC it's still in the upper 80s and very warm.

Hugs,
Donna

Touch Autumn as much as you can, before severe winter!

A wise decision to yield to the seasons.. even winter. I've made the decision to appreciate aspects of all seasons. The camera helps with that. Nothing beats my (our) beloved summer but each of the other three have their wonders to share. Who are we not to show our appreciation? ;)

Beautiful images, my dear friend.

Autumn!...how curious that it's a "she" :-)
I was walking Lucas and Mateo this morning, and was appreciating sings of "my Autumn" :-)...leaves on the grown, grey sky, wind...and even found a tree with yellow leaves! that coincidentally it's the very same that offered the leaves for my Autumnal stationery. I wonder what kind of tree that is, because I want one at home!!! The changes in season are very mild here, and there is still possibility of rain all the way through November. It's less now, though, and that makes me happy.
Lovely collage!! Lovely Autumn!
have a great day!

And, I loved your poetic ode to fall in this entry! It's "my" season and I wish the mellow months of September and October could somehow last longer...

Summer is 'Yang' and autumn is 'Ying'. A splendid imagery as I can associate with your subtle feelings of nature's beauty in its enfolding drama. Your posting though brief has touched my humane spirit or natural instincts. Colour your life by the shades of autumn and let your spirit sing in her glory.

Have a productive week ahead.

Susan, Elisabeth, tony, Brian, Mimi, Doreen, Stevie, Kath, Nessa, Sandy, Betty, Scribe, jeannette, Mr. Whiterspoon, Sandy, sprinkles, Minhas (welcome), “Un regard…” (welcome), Donna, Philip, Hilary , Claudia, Tina, Janine and Mahmood – thank you all for expressing your own sentiments in regard to favourite season(s) and the stunning third season of autumn.;)

I also appreciate your always kind words of compliments when it comes to my photography.

For those of you who asked; the top picture depicts a type of Rowan berries. Rowan Tree (or Mountain Ash) is a very common tree in Denmark and in a large part of central and northern Europe, giving bursts of colour to our surroundings in autumn.

Thank you all very much for your visit.:)

Each season has a beauty for us to enjoy and summer can be so fleeting. The leaves have yet to fall here and we are enjoying some lovely warm weather but only for a short time. Its set to change by the weekend.

I'm glad you are anticipating Autumn this year Zuzana, I love it! Your collage is gorgeous.
