Summer Symphony.

My parents left Denmark today, heading back home to central Europe.
The house feels so very empty all of a sudden - as it always does, when my loved ones depart. I feel at times that my life is filled with endless hellos and good byes; moments of infinite joy and sadness, which alternate within my reality.

The week has flown by so very fast, yet it feels like ages ago I sat down to write a post or visited your lovely places, which I plan to do imminently. My intention was never to stay away completely, but I was so drawn into the allure of life, that no time nor energy was left to visit the virtual world.

I have experienced wonderful days filled with walks in stunning country side and the beach, scenic drives, lovely food, great conversation and tranquil evenings sitting at the outdoor fire place among those I love; this despite the fact that the weather was a mixed blessing of sun and rain.

The nature is currently in its final display of lushness and growth. The departing hot and unusually dry July is greeted by golden August, the month of plenty, which brought the needed rain - a vital fluid that the Scandinavian nature can not do without.
My parents - just like me - are avid nature lovers and it is at times such as these, in the company of my family, that I get to see the glory of the Danish nature in its full splendor. Seeing it through the eyes of those who do not reside here, I see it all over again as if for the first time, with new perception and sensitivity. The summer nature plays a symphony, not only in sound, but in colour and light. If we only pay attention, the orchestra of nature creates masterpieces rich in natural treasures and pristine beauty.

Trying to recollect the summer days through the lens of my camera, below is a story in pictures depicting that which I saw and the way I saw it. I hope you will enjoy this photographic symphony, even though the reality is always best when lived.

Lovely pictures and great words. When one has a wonderful time, it means that time will also fly by as quickly. I am glad you were happy and joyous in the company of your parents, dear Zuzana. I can imagine the food, laughter and smiles that were circulated and treasures in the depths of memory.

Nice to have you back, dear Zuzana.

A sprightly week ahead :)

Joy and peace,
Susan

Oh my, you DO live in a beautiful place!!! Your photographs emphasize the lovely, vibrant colors of summer which I thrive on. I also love the sea. I miss our trips to Florida, because I love the beach so much, but I do not care to swim in the ocean--just wade along the water's edge! There is just too much in there I fear--like jellyfish who sting!

The colors of your Danish summer are so vivid and saturated. I love each and every scene. I'm sorry your family visit has ended. I'm sure you cherish every minute with them.

I wasn't able to take the tandem flight. I was over the weight limit. I would have gone in a heartbeat but for that. If I ever lose enough weight, I'm going straight up there to give it a try.

What marvellous shots. It's a blessing to be able to see life and really live it again through someone else's eyes.

Beautiful, joyous and lovely! I am so glad that you were able to spend time with your parents, Zuzana!
This week, my brother drove my parents here for a visit too. It was the first time my mother has seen our cottage - and such a delight to spend time with them!
Wishing you a very lovely day,
Zuzu

Welcome back!!! I always miss you when you're away.

I'm glad you were able to have such a nice visit with your family.

Beautiful pictures, as always!

You were asking if I had any news on the job front. I didn't hear back from that company I interviewed with and I'm actually quite glad. It would have been too many hours away from my dogs six days a week. I've applied to several jobs since then but no new interviews.

Welcome back, Zuzana! It seems as if you've had a wonderful, relaxing time away from the blogosphere! Bravo! :)

Oh, and I have to say... you paint such vivid word pictures to go along with the actual pictures. Marvellous. ;)

My parents are dead, Zuzana. As painful as the goodbyes are, I miss no longer having the hellos.

I most enjoyed the photo of the bug on what I would call a fairy-bell. In fact, I'll use it for my desktop if you don't mind.

Is that a ceramic stove you have on your terrace? Or does it serve a purpose other than radiating heat?
Beautiful post, as ever!

Even when every season has its beauty, summer...beautiful and lovely summer...is the best! Amazing pictures Zuzana!, and even when all are gorgeous, I found myself staring, of course, at those of the ocean the most. I know I would be completely happy living by the ocean, being able to listen to the sound of waves all year long. How curious how one longs for a season, and it goes by in a blink of an eye! I was thinking this just today. It's August already!!
I hope you have a great week ahead, and that the good moment spent with your loved ones will last in your heart and mind for the rest of the season, and always!
*hugs*

I just wanted to pop over to say thank you dear Zuzana for the lovely comment you left over at mine yesterday.

I'm so glad you had a wonderful time with your parents - you have made some treasured memories in the past week I'm sure! But I know what you mean about 'empty house' syndrome - we've had many visitors lately and it all seems so quiet when they have gone home...

Have a wonderful August dear friend and enjoy your travels!

I really enjoyed your mosaics in this post. The beauty of your home and country is outstanding. It is sad when loved ones leave after a visit. And then ones routine takes over..and life goes on.

That song entered my head as I looked at your photo collages, many of them featuring the big sky with puffy white clouds. Your home and environs looks heavenly!
Good to know you got to spend some time together with your parents recently. :-)

Dear Zuzana,

Why is it that we always long for that which we do not have? As I look at your beautiful collage, memories of home come to mind, though weak because of the years, there is still that flame longing.

Thank you for sharing a bit of your world with us.
