Serene Summer Evenings.

Summer is my favorite season, without a doubt. The light evenings, the warm days, wind still nights and dewy mornings. The world feels quiet a different place in the middle of the year - it is as if a collective happiness settles all around. Everything seems brighter and lighter, problems and worries are far removed.

As much as I love to sit by my fireplace in the winter time, while dreaming myself away as I gaze into the dancing flames, my favorite place to be every evening during weekdays in the summers is by my large living room window.

As soon as I get home and greet Batcat, I need to remove the troubles of my working day by pouring myself a glass of sparkling white wine and opening my living room windows, revealing breathtaking views of green nature, misty horizon and in time; the setting sun. I take off my shoes and let my hair down, lighting a few incense sticks, I sit back and listen to the classic masterpieces by great composers from the past. The sounds and the scents, together with the cool taste of the wine and the warmth of the setting sun does wonders. Relaxing my body and soul and bringing true serenity to my whole being...

Do you have a favorite spot to relax?

Let the sun shine and enjoy your summer:) We're so used to seeing the sun daily and if it rains too much, we moan. I like to sit in my patio and view my garden from there.

Not really. I do get to see our garden from my room's window. I often stand there for a few minutes. Great pictures. The setting sun sure is breathtaking.
Welcome Back Zuzana!:)

You do paint a thorough and carefully composed picture of relaxation!

I reckon I relax best when I'm zooming around the city... or in front of my puter in my quiet crypt... Or when I'm eating dinner with my lover... or when I'm doodling on my new udu drum... Or when- I guess I'm pretty relaxed all around. To quote Garfield: "I should be careful, if I were any more relaxed, I might slip into a coma!" ;j

Your window is spectacular! I especially love the way it opens. I like to sit in my living room and look out the A-Frame window. I can see clouds drift by and leaves in the trees swaying in the wind.

My favorite place to relax is our front porch, either sitting at the bistro table or in the swing. It's best with a cup of coffee in my hands and a dog at my feet.

Let's see... I love to just chill out in my armchair with a good book. There's nothing quite like it! And in case I haven't already said it, Zuzana, glad to have you back! :)

Lovely!

I do have a favorite spot to relax - deep in the woods. As a matter of fact, that is the next post I hope to share! :)

Enjoy your sweet summer evenings, dearest Zuzana!

Glad you are enjoying the summer. It is definitely hot and humid in NC. It's home though. I love spending time on the back porch at my place. Thanks for the comments on my blog. I love getting comments from you. Take care. Enjoy the upcoming weekend.

I’m afraid that I’m somewhat of a workaholic but when the day is done I do have a summertime sanctuary.
-
My yard is surrounded with 6’ high privacy fences. In one corner next to my perpetually growing tomato plants I constructed a water fall.
-
A small spot light shines on it at night and the sound of the water lapping over the rocks has an extremely soothing effect.
-
To the right I have Tiki torches which give the appearance of being on a tropical island.
-
This way I can transport my mind to a distant island without leaving my yard.

How I miss summer! Summer is my favorite time of year; it feels so serene around here when it's summer; mostly because people leave for touristic and vacation destinations, so there is peace and tranquility all around the otherwise busy city. I like to stay home when it's summer. Home is my "zen" place, and enjoying my favorite season at my zen place is wonderful. I don't think I have a favorite spot, though. I actually enjoy every single corner of it; every spot has a special something. I guess that as long as I have my mom, puppies and parrots around, everything turns perfect during summertime...or any time of the year! :-))
Enjoy the wonderful summer my friend!

My favorite place in the house is where ever my little dogs are. They follow me pretty much everywhere, even into the bathroom if I let them, so I guess my whole house is my favorite place!

I do enjoy snuggling with my boys in the morning right before I crawl out of bed for the day.

You certainly know how to relax and unwind Zuzana and your living room seems like a wonderful oasis - I love your photos!
My favourite place is the Boardwalk that they built along the river Liffey in Dublin, or if I am in Espana the wonderful beach at Bulneuvo at sunset.

you have an awesome view out your window. I love to sit in the sun and read, one of my relaxing things to do. I don't drink hardly ever lately but have you ever tried chocolate wine? very good and taste like baileys but not thick, goes down nicely.

welcome back!!

Hi Zuzana!
I'm so glad you are back. I missed you! I love the glimpse of the interior of your home. That huge picture widow is just stunning. I'll beg for more photos of your interior....pretty please! And that is a cute photo of your Irishman with the kitty. We're in Steward, Alaska for a few days. Tomorrow we go on a cruise up the Kanai Fords and the next day we are going on a Dogsled Tour. We have been on the road 55 days today! That's our longest trip ever (our trip to CA was 54 days total). Have a wonderful day with your Irishman! We are missing all the hot weather from home in the 90s and 100s F. It's been in the 50s and 60s F. here in Alaska mostly.

Welcome back dear!!!
Its pretty opposite in my part of the world!!! Its always so sunny and it even reaches 45 deg Celcius in summer sometimes.
I love rains. I am rather crazy about it!!! The best part is to stand in the garden with the arms outstratched and looking into the sky as the water droplets fall into my eyes and face!!! Oooooohhh!!!
I'm missing RAINS!!! :(

I am so glad you are enjoying your lovely, but brief summertime! I love to sit on my front porch in my rocking chair with a glass of sweet iced tea with lemon and a sprig of mint, or some days a lovely sparkling white peach sangria cocktail! By dusk, the mosquitos have driven me into the house!lol I also love the early morning view out my picture window (not as lovely as yours!), where my herb and rose garden attract birds. I am currently looking for a water fountain to entertain the birds --and me! This summer, the wrens decided to build their nest in the hanging flower basket right out the large window!

What a lovely way to relax. I love to relax with some hand sewing. So it can be anywhere as long as it is comfortable with a good light to see what I am doing.
Enjoy your weekend.
