Stepping Into Spring.

Tomorrows Vernal Equinox signifies the definite return of the sun, while our night and day become equal in length. However, it also signals a true beginning of a new season.
The arrival of Spring is now absolutely imminent.

Even though the threat of flurries still defines the chilly air, in the precious moments when the wind settles down and the sun envelopes us in its brilliant, vernal shine, there is no doubt that Winter is ending.
The Ice Lady is truly on retreat and she prepares to pass over her reign to the younger season - the most glorious, pristine, fresh and delightful season of them all.

As I grow older, I have grown to almost adore Spring. It is the time of so much promise. A time of beautiful awakenings, when nature springs to life so very publicly, with changes which are so definite and so very obvious. At the onset of this blooming period, the miracle of birth, growth and renewal defines our nature while it emerges from her long winter slumber.

Currently my surroundings reflect this shift of seasons in no uncertain terms. The first suggestive signs can be spotted here and there, stressing subtly, yet so very firmly that the point of no return has been reached.

  1. You help me stay seasonally oriented, you know. Since the events happening around me don't always coincide so well with the events in the heavens, it's easy to forget their importance.

  2. After a long and snowy winter here, I am more than ready for spring. Mother nature is teasing us right now. Days with sunshine and warmer weather, followed by downright bitter cold. Ah but yes, patience is a virtue and soon my favorite season will be here....summer.

  12. I love spring. It seems like most people love fall the most, but my favorite is and always has been spring. I love the bright tender green leaves, the delicate flowers, the abundance of fruit and produce, and the light and hope of it all...
Now if only it weren't raining through the Vernal Equinox here in California!

  17. The face of Spring is slowly turning her sunny face towards us too, although we yet have to feel the warmth of her sun. After the equinox we will be able to feel her presence much more easily. May the sun shine upon your day, in your heart & with every breath & step may you feel Spring like :) Gorgeous photo's Dear Zuzana. Soon the bud's will bloom. Wonderful time for us all to release our cocoons of Winter.

  22. I was sooooooooooo excited for spring. But then yesterday it hailed and snowed and I thought, "Doesn't Mother Nature know it's spring? Winter is over and it's supposed to be warm now!" And then today, the first day of spring, the wind is super chilly. I can hear it whipping around as I sit in my warm house.

Hopefully Mother Nature will get her act together soon and warm everything up.

  26. Living in a country of "eternal Spring" has made me take for granted a continuous Spring. As you know, there is always green and flowers around, and sun most of the year with very few exceptions. The dry and the rainy seasons set the conditions of a year-round of amazing nature. And while I wish we could experience snow, I am grateful and feel lucky to always be surrounded by Spring :o)
Enjoy this pretty season my friend!

  29. I see some "pussy willow" branches in one of your images in the collage. I picked some from near a stream when I walked my dog last weekend. :-)
I don't have the same enthusiasm about "early" spring as you do, and I should try harder to emulate your optimistic nature about it. Early spring(March and April)here can still be cold and barren. May is when everything erupts, it seems. But, it IS during these early days that everything is slowly unfolding and preparing for growth. And, you are so right in how you say "there is no turning back".

  30. Dear Tina, I know what you mean about early spring, it can still be very elusive. However it holds so much promise and I have over the years grown to love the expectations of something much more than the event itself.;)
Hope spring will come early to you this year.
Thank you so much for stopping by.;)

Welcome and thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. I appreciate your words and thoughts and your visits and feedback mean a lot to me, even though I no longer find the time to respond to your comments - unfortunately.
However, be assured I read every single word and will let you know in one way or another, that I do.:))
