Fiery February Dawn.

As the sun slowly moves ever so higher up in the sky, it yet again creates not just stunning sunsets, but equally breath-taking sunrises.

Dawn is by far my favorite part of the day. It holds a certain appeal of the gentle beauty in a newborn morning. A clean slate, fueling the idea that anything magical has the potential to yet happen.

February dawns are the most beautiful ones to be witnessed from my windows - they are not just stunning, but they are also rare. The sun is now rising in close proximity to the cardinal east and an early riser is rewarded by views that have no equal. The young sun sets the velvet violet-blue heavens on fire and creates a few minutes of absolute enchantment, as the stillness of a late night becomes a fiery winter dawn...

(Below a few images taken of a magnificent sunrise as it unraveled in my views one morning this past week.)

  1. Un-oh... Are you sure that this is February, Zuzana? Are you? Beautiful photography, beautiful colours I must admit!

Here, all colours are so subdued, even during the evening. But don't fret, we're gonna have a summer. Eventually.

  2. Gorgeous. These skies, when available, I seen when I walk home after getting the kids to school.

I still have a big grin on my face and some Etta playing in my ear.

  4. Breathtaking.

This reminds me of growing up on the prairies at home...the colors in the sky where just magnificent and because the land was so flat, they stretched on forever it seemed.

Thank you so much for sharing this exquisite beauty!

    Have a lovely weekend Zuzana.

  7. As I left my daughter's home one evening recently, I saw a beautiful flame red sunset. I don't recall ever seeing that intensity of lighting in the sky before. Of course, I began fumbling with my purse immediately trying to locate my camera. By the time I grabbed it, that perfect coloring had faded to pink. Your sunrise reminds me of my evening sky.

    Perfectly sublime!

  12. You always have the most magnificent sunsets! If I lived there, I might be more willing to get up at the crack of dawn to view them.

  23. Dear Zuzana, Re: how you see the new Font on my blog... You said you don't see much difference. But you should.

The new Font I have set on my blog, is truly Cursive. It's a style of typeface, which simulates handwriting, and my blog looks very different.

If you aren't receiving that, maybe you'll want to ask Blogger WHY? 'Cause you should. Other bloggers are.

Or have you put some setting on your own computer, which converts all Fonts which come in, to the plain Font, you choose? Some people prefer to do this, and that's fine.

    Hugs and ♥'s...

  24. The pink hue is so soothing that one can almost be lost looking at that. I love the picture with the house and the pink backdrop. Looks heavenly.

    Joy always,

  28. I can't believe how strong these colours are, more like sunset than dawn.
But I don't see many dawns, have only ever seen them when I hadn't yet got to bed, I'm useless to get up early mornings.
SO, I appreciate you sharing these beautiful pictures, Zuzana.

p.s. thanks for your comments re Meet Me on Monday - I don't make the hair colour myself, just brush it on myself!

  29. Lovely images! I feel as if I am missing something when I don't see the sunrise (which I miss far too often lately!)...it's such a spectacular show and ours for the taking each day!
Thanks for your lovely comments - and especially about my boy, Harry. He was quite a special dog (Use to see sunrises with him every morning...)!
    Blessings!

  30. Look at those colors!! always impressive pictures, Zuzana! That color orange gives you a feel of just how intense the sun is, doesn't it? Soon will come the afternoons in Guatemala City when the sun appears to be a ball of fire when setting in the afternoon. Hopefully I will catch a good picture! :o)
    have a great day!!
