A Bouquet Of Roses.

I received roses the other day. As I was arranging the stunning beauties, so many in numbers they eventually came to adorn two tables, I realized that I have not been given fresh cut flowers for a very long time. For years, perhaps decades...
And what a shame that it is as I love that simple, but so expressive sentiment that a bouquet represents.

The gift of flowers symbolizes so much in our modern world. Red and scented bouquet is a symbol of love, admiration or friendship, while an elegant and simple can convey our compassion or sympathy. In any case, flower arrangements signifies and highlight special moments in our lives; some happy, full of celebrations, some more solemn and some very sad.

They express in beauty and in shape that which we sometimes fail to express in words.

I am glad that you received the roses, dear Zuzana. Bless the sender and his/her thoughts. How these simple flowers light up our day and thoughts, is a miracle.
As you have rightly said: "They express in beauty and in shape that which we sometimes fail to express in words."

I wish you joy and peace always, dear Zuzana

  11. Fresh flowers are indeed a delight. I rarely have them in the house these days. Shame.

  12. The colors in you bouquet are really beautiful. The purplish color is amazing, as is the orange one too. I almost bought a bouquet of fall blooms at the grocery store on Monday, but didn't because I was too cheap....but I should have, they would have brightened the house up...like yours do.

  13. Fresh-cut REAL roses, from someone's lovely yard are the best! The colors, the fragrance, the way they brighten and light up a room...there is absolutely nothing like them!
So glad I stopped by to smell the roses today. You have made my day too!

  14. The company I work for used to be a rose exporter. Did I ever tell you this? It was wonderful! I visited the farm a few times, and I always came back enchanted with the view of so many rose bushes filled with many stems of the most beautiful varieties and colors. That particular business eventually went down, and the rose section was closed some ten years ago :o( Fortunately, while it was at its best, I was lucky to have enjoyed their aroma and beauty at home. Aren't they so delicate? And while I like all colors, I think whites are my favorite. What are yours?
    have a lovely day!

  23. What beautiful roses! That purple one is my favorite.

I haven't received any fresh cut flowers in a long very long time either. In fact, I can't remember the last time I got any. I used to sometimes buy them for myself when I was still working.

Today I went to a memorial service for someone (I didn't know the person it was for, a friend knew him and asked me to go with her so she wouldn't have to go alone) and was surprised there wasn't a single flower bouquet there! I've never been to a funeral/memorial service that didn't have ANY flowers!

  24. I can't help but notice that the sender's identity seems to be missing from your posting. Only 'Holly' seems to have picked up on that.

  37. Susan, Elizabeth, Sandy, Elisabeth, Tom, Hilary, Cathy, Brian, Laura, Tony, Ash, Lynne, Stevie, Julie, Claudia, Phillip, Roger, Donna, The Bach, maja, C or V, Janine, Holly, sprinkles, Scribe, Sandy, Sherry, Keith, LadyCat, Zuzu, Jeanne, Nensa, Rajesh, Loz (welcome), Betsy and Beverly; how delightful that so many of you enjoyed the virtual feel of the very real roses that indeed added beauty and splendor to my home.

I agree with you, some of the colours are vivid and unusual.

To clear up any confusion - the flowers were a gift from a good friend, but not the Irishman. As most of you know by now, he and I parted our ways a few weeks back.

As always, thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and for your endlessly kind comments,

    Xoxo

  38. Oh how I do love roses! The classic Red roses are my favorite, but as with so many others, I am not terribly picky. I love that you wrote it down, the thoughts of the recipient of the gift; perhaps if more people wrote these things down, the gift might be given just a little more often? Beautiful post and may you find an everlasting love to fill the rest of your days, weeks, months and years...and may he buy you flowers just often enough to let you know and be refreshed in how much you are loved. Blessings!! :))

Welcome and thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. I appreciate your words and thoughts and your visits and feedback mean a lot to me, even though I no longer find the time to respond to your comments - unfortunately.
However, be assured I read every single word and will let you know in one way or another, that I do.:))
